A bit about me
Suzi Naomi MacGregor (BMus, Prof.Dip Acting) Member of Equity And Spotlight UK.
I trained as a classical vocalist at Goldsmiths University, graduating in 2013. I left London and travelled the America's, living on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica for 5 years and returning periodically to the UK to see family and take further training. I returned to the UK in 2019, and have since been developing myself as a 1:1 vocal coach, alongside performing and songwriting.
I'm a singer at heart. I grew up singing with my 2 sisters on long car journeys to West Wales. Blood harmonies all the way. I have pretty much sung my way through life since then... In choirs, all-girl folk bands, musical theatre shows, opera's, wedding bands, Prog rock world fusion festival bands, solo singer-songwriter projects, in yoga sessions, singing in caves, on beaches, in woods and in the surf.
I see my sessions as sharing a work in progress, together. I listen, I diagnose, then we play and experiment and improvise.
Trainings & Research I draw on:-

'Uncovering the Voice', by Werbeck Svardstrom.

"Your voice is the soul, the self personified. We can manipulate it at will: soft whispers, seductive croaks, piercing, loud, demanding, loving, sweet, singing. But what we can choose ourselves can often give us the option to lie. Not intentionally or maliciously, but by accidentally masking the truth. The voice can become like a false smile : stuck and uncomfortable. So slowly, surely, stretch and challenge and explore your voice - it has the potential to encompass every expression."
